Boot will not open

06 Superb, i am unable to open the boot. I can hear the motor running but it will not open. I have tried locking and unlocking several times with remote and manually but nothing works. Does anyone know if i can get at the mechanism from inside the boot?. Have had a look but there is trim in the way and will not come away easily. Any other ideas? Very greatful for any help.

do you have a cable operated boot lever next to the drivers seat in line with petrol flap release

This car has two switches on the drivers door, one for operating the fuel filler flap(which works) and the other for the boot. Again, when i flick this switch i can hear the motor operation in the boot lid but it will not release. Thanks.
